Wahoo RPM Speed & Cadence Sensor Combo

Both RPM sensors in one box — speed for the wheel hub, cadence for the crank arm. Buying them together costs less than buying them separately, which is the main reason this exists.

Between them they give a non-smart bike most of what a training app wants: how fast the wheel is turning and how fast you are pedalling. For an older bike, a wheel-on trainer or rollers, that is the difference between a session your app can record properly and a session it cannot.

Both are magnet-less, both are 7 grams, both run about a year on a CR2032, and both are IPX7 sealed. Nothing to align, nothing to knock out of position.

Who this suits

Riders on wheel-on trainers or rollers — including the KICKR ROLLR, Elite Arion Mag and Minoura Live Roll R500 — where both wheel speed and cadence are useful. Also anyone kitting out an older outdoor bike without a power meter.

Who should buy just one

On a spin bike or a direct drive trainer, the speed sensor is no use — there is no wheel turning, and Wahoo state the speed sensor is not spin bike compatible. In that case buy the cadence sensor alone. If your trainer already reports cadence, which most modern direct drive units do, you may need neither.

Is it worth buying the pair?

If you will use both, yes — it is cheaper than buying them individually. If you only need cadence, buy the cadence sensor on its own.

Do they work with Zwift?

Yes, over Bluetooth and ANT+.

Will these give me power?

No. Some apps estimate power from speed on a known trainer curve, but that is an estimate, not measurement. For real numbers you need a power meter or a power-measuring trainer.
