Read this before ordering if you train indoors. This sensor measures a rotating wheel. It is explicitly not compatible with spin bikes, and it will do nothing useful on a direct drive trainer because your rear wheel is off the bike. If you want indoor data from a spin bike or a direct drive trainer, you want the cadence sensor instead.
Who this suits
Outdoor riders who want speed and distance without a GPS computer, and riders on wheel-on trainers and rollers where the rear wheel still turns — including the KICKR ROLLR and roller setups like the Elite Arion Mag. On those, a speed sensor gives your app something real to work with.
Who should not buy this
Spin bike and gym bike owners — Wahoo state clearly it is not compatible. Direct drive trainer users, because there is no rear wheel turning. In both cases the cadence sensor is the right part.
