Wahoo KICKR CLIMB Indoor Grade Simulator
Resistance alone only simulates half of a climb. Your legs feel the effort, but your body stays level, and after a while your brain stops believing the gradient on screen. The KICKR CLIMB fixes that by physically raising and lowering the front of your bike in time with the terrain in your training app — up to 20% on climbs and down to -10% on descents.
You remove your front wheel and the fork mounts into the CLIMB, which then moves under app control. On a Zwift climb the bike tilts as the road pitches up, your weight shifts back, and you recruit your climbing muscles in the same pattern you would outdoors. Coming over the top and dropping into a descent, the front comes down and you get a genuine moment of relief. It is the closest thing to a step change in immersion that indoor training offers.
It is also worth being clear that this is a luxury rather than a training necessity. It will not make you fitter than the same session done flat. What it will do is make long sessions considerably less monotonous, which for many riders is the thing that determines whether the session happens.
Who this suits
Riders who spend long hours indoors and are fighting boredom rather than a lack of fitness. It is particularly good for anyone doing sustained climbing work or riding long Zwift routes, and it changes how a virtual mountain feels more than any other accessory.
Compatibility — read this before ordering
The CLIMB works only with specific Wahoo trainers. Wahoo lists it as compatible with KICKR MOVE (2023, and only with a separately sold CLIMB Base Adapter, which also limits maximum descent to -8%), KICKR v6 (2022), KICKR v5 (2020), KICKR v4 (2018), KICKR CORE, KICKR v3 (2017, depending on serial number) and KICKR SNAP (2017).
It is not compatible with the KICKR ROLLR, not compatible with third-party trainers, and not needed with the KICKR Bike Pro, which tilts by itself. Older KICKR and SNAP models cannot be retrofitted, and using the CLIMB with an unsupported trainer risks damaging your bike or the trainer.
A handful of bikes are also incompatible — anything with a Cannondale Lefty fork, and a specific list of models Wahoo maintains. If you have an unusual fork or tight brake caliper clearance, check before ordering, and email us if you are unsure.

Frequently asked questions
Will it work with my KICKR CORE?
Yes. KICKR CORE is on Wahoo's compatibility list.
Will it work with a ROLLR or a non-Wahoo trainer?
No to both. Wahoo is explicit that the CLIMB is exclusively compatible with the trainers on its list, and using it with anything else can cause damage.
Do I need it if I have a KICKR Bike Pro?
No. The Bike Pro already tilts through its own range, and the CLIMB is not designed to work with smart bikes.
Does it make training more effective?
Not directly — the physiological load comes from the resistance. It changes your position and muscle recruitment, and it makes long sessions much more engaging, which indirectly means you train more.
My bike has an unusual fork. Will it fit?
Most bikes that fit a KICKR fit the CLIMB, but Wahoo maintains a list of known exceptions and anything with a Cannondale Lefty fork is out. Email us with your bike model if you want it checked first.
