Wahoo KICKR Floormat
A trainer mat is not an exciting purchase, and it is the one most people skip and then buy three months later anyway. There are three reasons to get it at the same time as the trainer.
The first is your floor. Indoor training produces a surprising volume of sweat, and it goes straight down. On a wooden floor that means staining and, over time, damage. On carpet it means something worse. The second is vibration. A trainer transmits low-frequency vibration into the floor, and in a flat or a terraced house that is exactly what the neighbours notice — not the sound in the air, but the hum through the structure. A mat between the trainer and the floor makes a real difference to that. The third is stability: a non-slip surface stops the trainer creeping across a smooth floor during a hard effort.
This one is sized to fit Wahoo KICKR trainers and smart bikes, so you are not trimming a generic mat to shape or leaving the front wheel hanging off the end.
Who this suits
Anyone training on a wooden, laminate or tiled floor, anyone in a flat or with rooms below them, and anyone who has already noticed a damp patch appearing under their trainer. If you are setting up a permanent training space, buy it at the start.
Who can skip it
If your trainer lives on bare concrete in a garage and there is nobody below you, the case is weaker — though it still catches sweat and gives you a defined space that stops the trainer wandering.
How it compares
Generic gym or yoga mats are thinner and usually too small, and they tend to bunch up under the trainer feet. A purpose-made trainer mat is thicker where it needs to be and sized for the footprint. We look at the options in our guide to the best turbo trainer mat.
It works alongside the KICKR Headwind and KICKR Desk as part of a complete setup, and pairs with any of our direct drive trainers rather than just Wahoo ones.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit a non-Wahoo trainer?
Yes. It is sized around KICKR trainers and smart bikes, but the footprint suits most direct drive trainers. Wheel-on trainers with a longer setup may overhang slightly at the rear.
Will it actually stop my neighbours hearing me?
It will noticeably reduce the vibration travelling through the floor, which is usually the part people below complain about. It will not silence drivetrain noise in the air — that is a trainer choice, covered in our quietest trainers guide.
Can I use it on carpet?
Yes, and it is worth it — carpet holds sweat and is much harder to clean than a mat.
How do I clean it?
Wipe it down with a damp cloth after sweaty sessions. Salt from sweat is corrosive to your bike, so getting into the habit protects more than the mat.
