Wahoo TRACKR SPEED Sensor
The current-generation Wahoo speed sensor. Magnet-less, mounts to the wheel hub, and rated for up to 200 hours on the supplied CR2032. It fits hubs up to 40mm in diameter and is IPX7 sealed against rain and sweat.
If you train on a spin bike or a direct drive trainer, this is not the sensor you want. It measures a turning wheel. Wahoo state explicitly that it is not compatible with spin bikes, and on a direct drive trainer your rear wheel is off the bike entirely. The RPM cadence sensor is the right choice in both cases.
Who this suits
Outdoor riders wanting speed and distance without a GPS head unit, and riders on rollers or wheel-on trainers where the rear wheel still turns — the KICKR ROLLR, Elite Nero and similar.
Who should look elsewhere
Spin bike and gym bike users, and direct drive trainer users. If you want both speed and cadence for an older bike, the RPM Speed and Cadence combo is better value.

Frequently asked questions
Will my hub be too big?
It fits hubs up to 40mm. Most road and gravel hubs are well within that; some deep boost mountain hubs are not.
Spin bike compatible?
No. Use the cadence sensor instead.
How is this different from the RPM speed sensor?
It is the newer design, physically a little larger and heavier, with a much longer quoted battery life.
